Speak Spanish to Spanish speakers, I have been using Duolingo and currently on a 191-day streak of consecutive learning. I can now read and most sentences and paragraphs and use context to figure out words I\u2019m unfamiliar with and think I can speak basic phrases and sentences\u2026when I\u2019m alone. My intention is to be able to carry on fluent conversations with Spanish speakers, right now whenever I engage with my neighbors, team members, and even my son Max who is fluent (even if he claims he isn\u2019t) I freeze up. Intentions should always have a why. First, we have lived next to our Mexican neighbors for almost 27 years. Second, over half of my workforce speak the language, thank goodness for google translate, but it is still difficult to exchange information and build a more cohesive team. Finally, I think I\u2019m tired of only speaking with a colonized tongue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
