And no, this wasn\u2019t a reward for hard work and dedication.
Democrats got to go home too.
This wasn\u2019t due to renovations\u2014no fresh paint, wallpaper, or carpet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was once sent home from work for using the word \u201cproprietary\u201d<\/em> in a meeting\u2014maybe with a bit of snark\u2014but I got paid, so let\u2019s call it an extra vacation day.
Congress? They’re on what amounts to administrative leave with pay<\/strong>\u2014you know, the thing police get after killing an unarmed Black man.
But unlike police, there won\u2019t be an investigation into Congress.
And if there were, the findings would be declared \u201cjustified.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s call it what it is:
They were sent home so they wouldn\u2019t have to do their jobs.<\/strong>
And you still have to pay them.
These are your employees. They work for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MAGA Mike is counting on your short attention span and even shorter memory.
He’s hoping something shiny happens between now and September\u2014so you stop thinking about Epstein.
So you forget the unthinkable horrors in those sealed files.
So you stop wondering why Ghislaine Maxwell\u2014convicted of sex trafficking\u2014is quietly preparing for her next chapter. A clemency deal? A pardon?
Or worse, more lies. She was convicted of perjury too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s wild when you really think about it.
Remember eggs?
I just paid $4.89 for a dozen.
Americans forget everything.<\/strong>
It won\u2019t be long before folks are saying,
\u201cI think his name was George Stein or Jeff Greenberg or something\u2026\u201d
Or just, \u201cThat Jewish guy who did something with kids.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And nobody<\/em> is talking about the \u201cBig Beautiful Bill\u201d that passed narrowly in Congress\u2014
the one that\u2019ll most hurt the very people in the MAGA-verse who keep chanting \u201crelease the files.\u201d
They\u2019re being groomed\u2014yes, groomed<\/em>\u2014by a 24\/7 loop of
\u201cHoax.\u201d \u201cFake news.\u201d \u201cObama\u2019s treason.\u201d<\/strong>
Now add:
\u201cBeyonc\u00e9 and Oprah were paid to endorse Kamala Harris.\u201d
Don\u2019t let the Beyhive swarm on your ass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Being groomed.
Just like the children Epstein and Maxwell lured in service of the rich and powerful.
The same rich and powerful who\u2019ll benefit from massive tax breaks\u2014
so long as you\u2019re too distracted to notice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And this \u201crecess\u201d?
Usually, Congress members go home to fundraise and host town halls.
But not this time.
They were told to stop<\/em>\u2014
because too many of y\u2019all showed up angry.
Shouting.
Demanding answers.
Tired of the excuses and the stammering and the hemming and hawing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So now?
Your Congressperson is on vacation.
Paid vacation.
Paid by you.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
