How do it free us?

Before you start anything in the name of our people, ask yourself this question, whether you march in the streets in protest after another Black soul is sent to ancestry by a white nationalist, or when you consistently go to the institutions built to sustain racism asking them to change for your Black ass. First ask ‘How do it free us?’

When you buy into the idea that asking for inclusion, equity, and equality, coupled with “We Shall Overcome Someday” means that systematic racism will somehow miraculously become the vessel to make your desires a reality. If you ask your oppressor to be free and he says no, do you just keep asking with the hope that one day he’ll say yes?

First ask yourself; how do it free us?
