This Time It Will Be Planes

This morning, while listening to the news, I heard the Felon of the United States (FOTUS) declare that we are simply going to take Gaza without spending a dime on it.

Before you grab the revised history books from the new Department of Education (if one even exists), let’s remember what they will tell you. They’ll spin a tale of how “great white people” discovered America, built a nation by farming the land, picking cotton, and constructing fine homes, including the one on Pennsylvania Avenue. They’ll recount how these great pioneers created a “more perfect union” and built factories, the sole proprietors of this nation.

In their version, they’ll claim they saved Black people from savagery, conveniently ignoring the Indigenous peoples who were already here. They’ll erase facts of the Trail of Tears and the horrors of chattel slavery.

But let’s be clear: the colonizers won’t arrive in ships like the Mayflower when they go to Gaza. They’ll arrive in Gulfstreams and Pilatus aircraft. Their manicured hands won’t be capable of demolishing buildings or laying bricks. Their non-melanated skin would burn and blister under the intense Gaza sun.

Their mediocrity demands feigned superiority over those who actually belong to the land. The construction will be built on the backs of brown people forced into labor which will look like modern day share cropping, and then the rightful owners are driven out through violence and brutality—white savagery.

White people, your history may be rewritten, but the world is beginning to recognize who the true savages are.
